Misery Despises Company

Hello, Sweetie.

To be honest, I don't think I even have a very good excuse for skipping last week. I guess I was out-of-town, staying in a condo that had the worst WiFi I've ever encountered. And I've used some pretty crappy WiFi.

Anyway, the good news is, I got new running headphones, and they are amazing. Next week, I'll devote my post to bragging about them and telling my fabulous readers where you can buy them.

But this week, I have something else to say.

Something I might not have told you is that I run alone. Even when I have the option of running with my dad or brother, I choose not to, because I prefer suffering alone.

This week, I was reminded why I run alone.

I stayed the night in town, at my grandparents' house, and when I woke up in the morning, I had to run. Unfortunately, so did my brother, and he insisted we run together. I will provide you with a brief transcription of the first few minutes:

My Brother: "I feel good. I haven't run in a few days, but I'm still in pretty good shape. This is nice!"

Me: "Please shut up."

My Brother: "Look at my new shoes! They're all neon. You know, the soles are thicker and you can comfortably run with either a heel strike or a toe strike."

Me: "Please. Stop."

My Brother: "Isn't it nice running in town? I think--"

Finally, I snapped. I told him he could either shut up and stop it, or not run with me. He chose the former (and failed, but that's beside the point).

So, I was painfully reminded why I run alone. Let it be said that I am never running with my brother again.

Allons-y!

SO SORE

Hello, Sweetie.

Okay, first of all, this is a day late. Forgive me.

But aside from that, the first thing I have to say is the same thing that the title of this post suggests: I AM SORE. The reason being, I went snowboarding on Friday.

Now don't get me wrong: I love snowboarding. But the day after, and several days after that, are hellish.

But here's the amazing thing: usually, after a day on the slope, my legs are killing me. But guess what? Right now, they feel fine! Guess why?

'Cause running! It might actually be good for something!

(My arms, however, are a different story. And I'm tired from waking up at 6 AM.)

Anywho, that's all for today.

Onward to adventure.

Allons-y!

In Which I Return

Hello, Sweetie.

Hope your holidays went well! I honestly can't remember if I skipped one or two weeks. But the important part is, I'm back!

I'm not really sure if there have been any new developments in my running schedule. Due to the holidays and such, I have had to skip a lot of runs.  Which I'm definitely not complaining about, but it has been frustrating to lose so much progress.

BUT LOOK AT THIS GIANT DOCTOR WHO PAJAMA SUIT MY PARENTS GOT ME FOR CHRISTMAS!

I have not taken it off, except to wash it. If fact, I'm wearing it right now.

Also, I saw Big Hero 6 last night, and it was amazing. I cried, duh, but still, I highly recommend it. It was very, very good.

And one last thing: I now have more inspiration to get in shape! There's the old 'keep-up-with-the-Doctor' one, but also, how am I going to be a Jedi if I can't even run a mile without stopping? (I feel like, in the previous posts, I might not have accurately conveyed how much I love Star Wars. I've watched the movies since I was itty-bitty, and the Clone Wars TV show? SO MUCH YES.)

I've got a massive crush on Captain Rex.

Anywho, you guys are gonna have to bear with me while I recover from all the skipped days.

So that's all.

Finis!
